Selfcare. . .

To many caregiving professionals, the very name of this page on our website connotes "selfishness." Seventeenth century philosopher and theologian Richard Cumberland once said, "It is better to wear out than to rust out." When caring for others, however, it perhaps doesn't matter--since either way, you're out!

On this growing page of our site, look for resources about how to take better care of yourself while you're taking care of others. There is much to come on this page in 2011. Bill's newest book, Called to Care: Navigating a Life in Caring for Others will be released late this year. And in the meantime, we've included some helpful resources, as well.

Weekly Plan Sheet

Steven  Covey says that daily planning enables too much crisis planning. Instead, he suggests people who want to really live by priority take some time at the beginning of the week and create a "layout" of the entire week, evaluated in terms of one's mission, goals, and of course, appointments. This Weekly Plan sheet will supplement your FranklinCovey daily planner, Outlook or electronic organizer. It's a really low-tech tool for those of us who need to write things down "the old-fashioned way"
